The Animal Guardian Society (T. A. G. S.) is a non-profit charitable dog rescue organization dedicated to the health and welfare of animals. T.A.G.S. was founded in 1987 and has since provided over 20 years of assistance to the people and animals of the Durham Region. The society works in conjunction with animal services, animal welfare groups and the public by assisting in finding permanent adoptive home for displaced animals. |

T.A.G.S. is available to answer any questions and assist individuals with any problems they may be experiencing with their dogs. We also aid in the promotion of education to the community and are available for presentations. |

T.A.G.S. is a registered charity and operates solely on donations made by the public. Volunteers and foster homes are always needed and appreciated |

Countless dogs die every day in shelters, yes even our local shelters. The unfortunate dogs that find themselves at the local animal shelters have but only a few days to find a new home or else they will face euthanasia. We do not currently have a shelter of our own and rely on temporary foster homes in order to rescue dogs from their inevitable fate at the shelters. With only a limited number of foster homes, we are unable to rescue all of the wonderful dogs who need a second chance at life. |

Volunteers face the harsh reality that not every dog, will find a safe place within our program. We do the best we can, but with your help we can do even more. |

Please consider offering your home as a safe and loving haven for a dog until T.A.G.S. can place them in a forever home. All the necessary food, medical care and any support needed, are always provided at no expense to the foster homes. |
